Flaxseed Crackers
Course:
Snack
Ingredients
- 50 grams Ground Flaxseed
- 74 grams Chia Seeds
- 237 millilitres Water
- 2 tablespoons Poppy Seeds
- 2 tablespoons Sesame Seeds
- 1⁄2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 1⁄8 teaspoons Cayenne Pepper
- 1⁄4 teaspoons Dried Oregano
- 1⁄4 teaspoons Salt
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 325F (160C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the flaxseed meal and chia seeds in a bowl.
- Add the water and let sit for 10β15 minutes so the seeds absorb the water and form a gel-like consistency.
- Stir in the poppy seeds, sesame seeds, spices, and salt to taste.
- Spread the mixture on the previously prepared parchment-lined baking sheet. Place another piece of parchment paper on top and use your hands to spread the mixture evenly, about 1/4-inch thick. Make sure itβs evenly spread and not too thick in the middle (to ensure the crackers cook evenly).
- Cut into squares.
- Bake for 30β35 minutes, then check for doneness. The edges should be crisp and dry. If the center is still soft, flip the whole sheet over and bake for another 10β15 minutes.
- Cool completely, then break or cut into pieces.
