Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200ÂșC fan and set an oven rack in the middle position.
  2. In a small skillet, heat the oil and butter over low heat.
  3. When the butter is melted, add the garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and fragrant but not browned, 1 to 2 minutes. 
  4. Lay the bread out on a foil-lined baking tray.
  5. Brush the garlic mixture over the bread.
  6. Sprinkle salt and pepper on top. (Flaky salt is good here!)
  7. Wrap up the foil.
  8. Put in the oven for 10 minutes.
  9. Unwrap the bread and place back in the oven for 5 minutes or until crisp.
